FibaTape self-adhesive fiberglass mesh is thin and light, but extremely strong and easy to use, and greatly increases joint strength and durability for less cracking.
- Wall must be clean and dry
- Centre and apply tape over joint, press firmly
- Apply a generous first coat of compound over the tape, completely filling the joint crevice
- Wipe off any excess compound with drywall knife
- Let dry completely, then sand lightly
- Apply sufficient thin finishing coats to produce a smooth wall surface
CAUTION:
- Failure to completely fill the joint may result in cracking
- Special care must be taken with cut or butted boards that do not have a tapered edge
- For best results, use a setting-type compound
