Mega Mulch is a black mulch that reduces weed growth and soil erosion by forming a protective barrier over your soil. This mulch is made from renewable coconut coir husks and lasts twice as long as traditional wood and bark mulches, often 2 full seasons before fully biodegrading. The coir chips and fibers hold up to 7 times their weight in water, allowing them to hold and release water to the soil below as needed through capillary redistribution. The mulch shades your soil from the harsh sun on hot days, but the dark colour also helps to absorb heat from the sun for cold nights, helping to keep roots warm during potential frost events. The convenient, easy to load and carry package expands up to 6 times its size when water is added, covering up to 16 sq ft when spread at the recommended 1.5" depth.
