These nails, for light general interior construction, are lighter than common nails and help to reduce splitting in soft woods. Phosphate coating is a chemical etching process that provides temporary corrosion resistance and greater holding power. The phosphate coating is an excellent adhesive base for paints and drywall joint compound. It is not recommended for exterior use.
