Product Overview
Southwire's NMWU cables may be used in underground installations, including direct burial, at conductor temperatures not exceeding 60°C. Southwire NMWU also may be used for work in both concealed and exposed areas to the weather in dry and wet locations. Southwire's NMWU cables are available as two- or three-conductor cables, with bare grounding conductor. Constructed with annealed (soft) copper conductors - compressed stranding for the stranded conductors; a thermoplastic polyvinyl chloride (PVC) insulation and a nylon jacket for the phase conductors; and a sunlight-, moisture-, and fungus-resistant PVC jacket surrounding the overall construction.
- 12 AWG NMWU with 2 copper conductors and oneground wire
- Minimum installation temperature is -40°C for two-conductor cables sizes 14 AWG through 6 AWG, and -25°C for other sizes. For three-conductor cables the minimum installation temperature is -10°C
- Material should be properly stored above 0°C for 24hours prior to installation
