Clay pots
Get your kids involved with cooking that's as fun as it is delicious with this cool recipe for flowerpot cakes and candy flowers.
Clay pots make a fun container to bake cupcakes or mini-cakes for a garden inspired celebration.
We used 4" clay pots (5059-651).
Here's How
- Wash clay pot, rinse and let dry.
- Spray the pot twice with cooking oil.
- Line the inside of the clay pot up to the bottom of the rim with parchment paper (4411-292). Cut a circle of parchment paper to line the bottom of the clay pot.
- Make your cake batter and fill the clay pot to slightly below rim. Bake according to directions. Frost when cool.
Flowers
Bamboo skewers (4038-758) create wonderful candy flower kebobs. Use gumdrops, Swedish berries and marshmallow to create the flowers.
Caution: Remember that the skewers are sharp. Cut to blunt the pointed end. Flowers should be created by children old enough to handle the project and eaten under adult supervision.
