The Boreal Blizzard Haskap was developed by the University of Saskatchewan and ripens the earliest of the Borealis series with the largest fruit. The berries are twice as big as Tundra or Borealis and one of the heaviest. Despite the large size, the berries are firm and hold onto the branches which makes this variety a great option for mechanical harvesting. This variety requires a compatible pollinator to produce fruit and pairs best with Boreal Beast. Boreal Blizzard shows high resistance to mildew, excellent cold tolerance and is low maintenance, making it an excellent selection for the northern climates.
