The Boreal Beast Haskap was developed by the University of Saskatchewan and produces exceptionally flavourful, deep blue berries. These berries taste like a cross between a blueberry and a raspberry. Boreal Beast has firmer berries that tend to remain on the bush longer that other varieties. This Haskap requires a compatible pollinator to produce fruit such as Boreal Beauty or Boreal Blizzard. Boreal Beast shows high resistance to mildew, excellent cold tolerance and is low maintenance, making it an excellent selection for the northern climates.
