What You'll Need
- 8/4" x 12" x 25' pine
- 8/4" x 6" x 5' pine
- 1" x 12" (24) black nipple threaded pipe 3238-954
- 1" black floor flange (48) 3238-231
- 4" casters (6) 2324-109
- Flat Black Rust Coat
- Wood-Shield Best Semi-transparent Stain (shown natural cedar) 1866-868
- 1 1/2" x #14 (100) wood screws 2174-444
Here's How
- Base: Cut 1/2" x 1" deep loose tongue joint between one 8/4" x 12" and 8/4" x 6". Rip tongue to fit. Glue and clamp.
- Shelves: Cut 8/4" x 12" to 5' lengths, and sand smooth.
- Stain all boards as desired. Let dry.
- Attach flanges in the centre and 1/2" from the edges at each end to the top and bottom of each shelf.
- Attach flanges to the top of the base in the same position as the shelves. Attach casters to the bottom of the base, in the centre and the four corners.
- Thread one end of pipe into the flanges of the base and the other end into the flanges on a shelf. Continue threading pipe into the flanges until all shelf tiers are assembled. Fasten the top shelf with screws.
